Shipping & Delivery Policy
Every FANCO pergola is built to order and shipped direct from our factory to your address. There is no US warehouse, no dealer, and no distributor in between. This page explains exactly how long that takes and what it costs, so there are no surprises after you order.
Delivery time: 45 to 60 calendar days
That is the full window from the day your order is placed to the day the freight carrier delivers to your address. It is not an estimate we hide behind — it is the number we hold ourselves to.
Here is what happens inside that window:
Nothing is held in stock. Production does not begin until your order is confirmed, because each pergola is built in the size and finish you selected. This is why the first two weeks are production rather than shipping.
Most orders arrive closer to 45 days than 60. We publish the wider window because ocean freight schedules, port congestion, and weather are outside our control, and we would rather commit to a date we can always meet than a date that sounds better.
Shipping cost: free, DDP, no exceptions
Shipping is free on every pergola order to the contiguous 48 United States.
Your order ships DDP — Delivered Duty Paid. That means:
- Import duties are already paid
- Import taxes are already paid
- Customs clearance is already handled
- Brokerage fees are already covered
You will never receive an invoice on delivery. The price you see at checkout is the total price you pay. You are not the importer of record and you will not be contacted by customs or a broker.
This matters more than it sounds. Many overseas sellers quote a low price and ship DDU or DAP, which leaves the buyer to pay duty and clearance fees when the goods land — often several hundred dollars, demanded before release. We do not do that.
Where we ship
We currently ship to the contiguous 48 states.
We do not yet ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, US territories, PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or outside the United States. If you are in one of these locations, contact us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether we can arrange something.
How your pergola arrives
Your pergola ships as one or more crates on a pallet by LTL freight. Depending on series and size the total shipping weight is roughly 250 to 700 lb.
Curbside delivery. The driver brings the pallet to the end of your driveway on a liftgate truck. The driver is not required to carry it into your yard, unpack it, or help you move it.
Someone must be present. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery appointment using the phone number on your order. Please make sure that number reaches you.
Plan for the weight. A crated pergola cannot be carried by one person. Have two or three people, or a wheeled dolly, available on the delivery day.
Tracking. You receive a tracking number within 3 business days of factory dispatch, and the carrier contacts you directly to arrange the appointment window.
Inspect the crate before you sign — this protects you
Walk around the crate and look at it before you sign the delivery receipt.
If you see crushed corners, punctures, water staining, or a broken pallet, write it on the delivery receipt before signing, and photograph the crate where it sits.
This takes two minutes and it fully protects you. A clean signed receipt tells the carrier the shipment arrived in good order, which makes a damage claim far harder to win afterwards. If you note the damage, we handle the claim and you are covered.
If the driver will not wait, write "subject to inspection" next to your signature.
If anything is damaged or missing, email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos. We ship replacement parts by air courier at no cost to you — you never need to send the pergola back.
Delays
Ocean freight is reliable but not perfectly predictable. Port congestion, customs inspections, severe weather, and carrier schedule changes can move a delivery date.
If your order is going to exceed the 60-day window we contact you proactively with a revised date. We do not wait for you to ask.
If a delay becomes unacceptable to you and your pergola has not yet shipped from the factory, you may cancel for a full refund.
Why we ship this way
A pergola that arrives in five days came from a US warehouse. That warehouse was rented, staffed, insured, and stocked months before you ordered — and every one of those costs is inside the price you paid, along with the dealer margin and the showroom overhead.
We ship direct from the factory that builds your pergola. That is 30 to 40 days of ocean freight instead of five days of domestic trucking, and it is the trade-off that removes those layers from your price.
We think six to eight weeks is a fair wait for a structure engineered to stand for thirty years. If it is not fair for your timeline, we would rather you know that now than after you have ordered.
